marketing mixers

...the social network for marketers

Chris Lunn

Twittering / Tweeting - We're up and running...

It's official...marketing mixers is on Twitter and has been now for over 24 hours...and I'm finally starting to understand what all the fuss is about. I've used Twitter for a while as personal user but I haven't pushed it on the professional front as I thought I'd examine how others were taking advantage of it first.

First Impressions
If nothing else, having a business presence on Twitter enables the world to find you on what is, a massive stage. In addition to people looking you up directly, you can be 'discovered' in the public time lines and in general searches so it is a good networking tool which was always the doubt in my mind.

In addition I've downloaded twitterberry for my BlackBerry and that makes it more alive and 'with you' as you go. Overall, I'm far more impressed than I expected it to be.

"It's obviously one thing to follow what Britney Spears or Lance Armstrong are up to but is it going to change or develop my business?"

Well initial impressions are good. We've got our first few followers which is always a bonus and the RSS feed of our latest tweets is also available on our home page which is good.

As with everything else, time will tell but if you've had your own experiences with Twitter I'd like to hear them...
